Remko Koopman is an artist from Leiden, The Netherlands. Besides his work as a professional graphic designer operating under the name of Studio Booyabase Koopman is an autonomic artist specialized in painting canvases and murals. His obsession with science, technology, machinery, nano robotics and industrial architecture have lead to a recognizable personal style. His artwork is characterized by striking retrofuturistic industrial images often including graphic shapes and a sinister reinterpretation of clair-obscur. Koopman plays with the viewers perception of hight and size by using surreal elements such as incorrect angles and perspective distortion.
